Ricky Yiu Poon-Fai

Ricky Yiu is a famous racehorse trainer in Hong Kong. Born in 1957, he is the first Chinese trainer to have won at Group One level on foreign soil, taking out the Sprinters Stakes in Japan with Ultra Fantasy and the KrisFlyer Sprint in Singapore with Sacred Kingdom.

Romantic City can run his opposition ragged

Romantic City (Ben So) is drawn ideally to take some catching again.

It took nearly one year, 20 runs and a drop of 32 ratings points for Romantic City to become competitive again, but now that the bold front-runner has reclaimed some semblance of his best form, the six-year-old can make it back-to-back wins in the anchor leg of tomorrow night's Triple Trio at Happy Valley.

Pike goes one better after learning from narrow defeat last time out

The benefit of a run has never been in doubt and Willie Pike took all the improvement he needed to win on Deep Thinker for Ricky Yiu Poon-fai after being narrowly beaten on him last start. Super Caga nudged out Deep Thinker last time after Deep Thinker had sprinted quickly to him and looked all over a winner, but a better draw and that experience and Pike was able to turn the tables.

Ricky Yiu Poon-fai's double kicked off with Happy Champion, who drew a good barrier for the first time in and that helped him see off promising newcomer, Holyangleholy, in the third.
