Consistent Yiu stays in front on strike rate

Trainer Ricky Yiu Poon-fie finished last season with the best strike rate in town and has no intentions of letting that title go.

In tandem with much-improved rider Jacky Tong Chi-kit, Yiu posted another double from his six runners yesterday, with another two minor placings, to take his season to six wins from 25 starters and a strike rate of 24 per cent.

Safety First maintains Yiu's high strike rate

Trainer Ricky Yiu Poon-fie continues to maintain a high strike rate this season and it is young, quality horses like Safety First who are helping him do it.

At 14.7 per cent winners to runners, only championship contender Paul O'Sullivan is keeping a better strike rate than Yiu, who is winning races at a rate just under 13 per cent.
