Four projects win government designers architecture awards

The Architectural Services Department scooped four prizes at the city's leading architecture awards, including medal of the year.

The four-storey Stanley Municipal Services Building on Stanley Market Road - designed by government architects - snapped up the Institute of Architects' Annual Award top prize, the medal of the year.

ARCHITECTURAL firm RMJM has been awarded a major contract in China worth $1.13 billion in the northern province of Liaoning.

The contract is for the Shenyang Centre, a 203,400 square metre development involving both residential and commercial facilities.

TIANJIN wants the private sector to build the planned Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area (TEDA) into a complete city.

Authorities envisage a 635 hectare residential and commercial city centre for the TEDA, which will act as a ''support city'' for the growing manufacturing district.
