Estate agent in robbery snatch

A 25-year-old estate agent was snatched for 11 hours in a Oi Man Estate car park, Homantin, by two men who tied her up and robbed her of some cash and her bank cards and PIN numbers.

The victim managed to free herself when the robbers left her in another car park in Tai Po Road, Shekkipmei.

He stormed in and thrust the teller a note telling her to hand over the cash because he had a bomb.

Burglars go unnoticed

Two burglars escaped with cash and valuables worth $800,000 from a house in Braga Circuit, Ho Man Tin, as the occupants ate in the dining room.

The burglary was discovered when a neighbour phoned the owner to say he had seen two men, one holding a bag, jump into the garden from the first-floor balcony.

An illegal immigrant hid in a pigsty for nine days because he was 'frightened and ashamed' of robbing a man at knifepoint. Cheung Hing-po, 26, was jailed for 31/2 years by the District Court after admitting robbery.

A robber hit a Taiwan tourist, 58, on the head with a mobile phone and snatched her handbag containing more than $1 million in cash in Hillier Street, Central.

Robbery denied

A slick $5 million godown robbery was engineered by the victim, a court heard. Yeung Pan-pan, 27, denied he had any part in the robbery of his Hung Kay Trading Company. He said he was gagged and bound for eight hours on June 30, last year. But Keith Oderberg, defence, suggested Mr Yeung arranged the entire scheme so insurance could be claimed on the stolen goods.

Holdup foiled

POLICE said they foiled an attempted robbery when they arrested a man and a woman with a stun gun, knife, torch and five screwdrivers following a Mongkok car chase. Police found $6,000 worth of heroin, cannabis, ice and pills after the chase which ended when the car crashed in Prince Edward Road West near Portland Street.

Tablets used in robbery

ROBBERS last night grabbed a teenager by the neck, put a cloth soaked in paint thinner over her face and forced two tablets down her throat, knocking her unconscious.

The three-man gang used tape to tie the 19-year-old woman's hands and blindfold her in the attack on the 10th floor staircase of the Wah Tat Industrial Building in Wah Sing Street at about 6.45 pm.
