Robot toy with the smarts to rival Star Wars' C3PO

It may be a case of art imitating life with the next generation of Hong Kong's belching, dancing Robosapien, which is armed with artificial intelligence and a personality to rival Stars Wars' C3PO.

Robosapien V2 - developed by Mark Tilden and his Tsim Sha Tsui-based team at WowWee - can see, hear and speak.

Belching Chinese robot to make its Hong Kong debut

China joins the global robotics cult this week when Hong Kong's own Robosapien belches, breaks wind and kung-fu kicks his way into local toy shops.

The humanoid robot, from local toy firm WowWee, took three years and US$1 million to develop, and is the brainchild of a former Nasa robotics expert.
