The fact that he's also her husband probably explains her perception of him, but it's a somewhat surprising description of a filmmaker who has made such controversial movies.

A spy (or, in this case, an investigator) falls in love with the very person she's spying on. What an original concept!

And the rest of Jingle Ma's romantic-comedy Love You You is the same, with every twist and turn predictable. At no point are you genuinely surprised - except for one unpredictable angle, which, although intriguing, is tacked on like a loose accessory.
