Comments made by Lu Ping, former director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, are unfair to the city ("Love China or leave it, says Lu Ping", November 1).

Armed forces charity lumbered with costly bill after bags edict

Armed forces charity The Royal British Legion (Hong Kong and China Branch) will have to pay HK$15,000 - the equivalent of two allowances for their needy veterans - to have new collection bags printed, because the Social Welfare Department (SWD) says the wording on the bags, used for at least the past 11 years, does not meet new regulations.

Poppy sale help required

THE Royal British legion (Hong Kong and China Branch) is organising the sale of poppies.

This will take place on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11.

I am looking for women who are willing to donate just two or three hours of their time to sell poppies.

They will be at venues in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui.

I WOULD like to thank all those who took an active part in this year's 'poppy appeal'. Without the money raised by this appeal it would not be possible for us to help those in need as effectively as we would wish.

Poppy sale ladies plea

THE Royal British Legion (Hong Kong and China Branch) is organising the sale of poppies on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12.

I am looking for ladies who are willing to donate two to three hours of their time to sell poppies in the foyers of hotels in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui.
