Finally, we are thinking of setting up a column about boats, yachts and sailing-related events. So we invite all seafarers to tell us any news. We are checking out our first boats, the Sea rays and Baja 20s, at Simpson Marine's show at the Aberdeen Boat Club this weekend and we look forward to hearing from you.

Sail wants its own ships

Steel Authority of India Ltd (Sail) has revived its plan to set up a shipping company with Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), another company owned by the Indian government. This follows the steel ministry's directive to Sail to cut costs and rationalise expenditure. The Sail management wants to cut freight costs by making its own shipping arrangements.
