St Joseph's junior athletes steal the show

Junior athletes stole the lime light at St Joseph's College an nual sports meet at Wan Chai Sports Ground. The two-day event gave the St Josephians an opportunity to warm up in their preparation for the inter-school athletic championships in mid- February.

Splashing win for swimming champs

Diocesan Boys' and Girls' schools won the boys' and girls' Grade A and B team titles after a massive haul of 23 gold, 10 silver and eight bronze medals at the Secondary School Life-Saving Championships at Morrison Hill Indoor Swimming Pool.

The Division One inter-school swimming overall champions took the lion's share of the medals on offer.

Girl power helps SAR strike gold

Hong Kong topped the medals table with nine golds, seven silvers and 10 bronzes at the Schools' Interport Swimming Competition (secondary section) held at Kowloon Park Swimming Pool.

Credit should go to the girls' squad, which won six gold medals, and set three records.

Medleys key to trophy win

Morality House swimmers stamped their authority on the 19th Ha Kwai Chung Government Secondary School swimming championships.

Victories in the 4 x 50-metre freestyle and medley relays provided the stepping stone for Morality House to take the boys' overall title and hence the outright trophy.

THE 23rd annual swimming gala of St Joseph's College, recently held at Victoria Park Swimming Pool, ended on a high note with 15 records rewritten.

'The response to this year's event was encouraging, with more than 150 students taking part in the competition, and the junior boys showed great enthusiasm in particular,' said PE teacher Wu Wan-kwok.

Open day visitors learn to make paper

VISITORS to the Queen Elizabeth School open day came away with at least one useful idea - how to make paper at home using a blender.

But, of course, there was much, much more to the show, which included enthralling demonstrations of embossing, tie-dyeing and the art of Western calligraphy.

FIFTY years from now, future students of Queen Elizabeth School will open a time capsule that will give them a vivid picture of the school as it is today.

The time capsule was buried in the school compound last Sunday at the opening of a reunion fair to mark the school's 40th anniversary.

QUEEN Elizabeth School students did the school proud by displaying their talent and skills at the open day held recently in the school hall.

There was much festivity in school as the hall was packed with guests and visitors including principals, teachers and students of other schools, parents and old students.

Canossa girls spring to trampoline victory

CANOSSA College grabbed the limelight by winning all the medals in the recent secondary school trampolining competition (girls' section) held at the Harbour Road Indoor Games Hall.

The Canossa girls stood head and shoulders above the rest as they captured the Grades A, B and C individual honours as well as Grades B and C team titles in convincing style.
