Scuba diver dies after Sai Kung mishap

A 31-year-old scuba diver lost her battle for life early yesterday, hours after being pulled unconscious from the sea during a dive off Sai Kung.

The woman, surnamed Tong, was reported dead just after midnight after being in a critical condition for about 11 hours at Tuen Mun Hospital.

Sai Kung scuba diver found dead

A 33-year-old woman died after she went missing from her scuba diving group off Sai Kung yesterday.

Police said an initial investigation showed nothing suspicious. However, the victim's husband demanded to know how her instructor could have lost track of her.

From nightlife to scuba diving

There is drama, fitness, photography, IT, day and overnight camping, and even classes in scuba diving. Younger children can also enrol in some of the courses.

Unfair surcharge

I am a scuba diver and have found that most airlines allow divers a luggage allowance of up to 30kg because of their heavy equipment.

However, at Tokyo, on my return from a recent diving trip I found that United Airlines has a different policy.

At check-in I was told I would need to pay a baggage surcharge.

Mainland diver dies

A mainland scuba diver who had entered Hong Kong waters illegally to catch sea urchins died after surfacing from the seabed off the Ninepin Islands yesterday.

He was among four mainlanders who had entered from Shanwei to catch sea urchins from a motorised sampan yesterday morning.

The victim was wearing breathing equipment and had dived to a depth of 15 metres.
