Gross floor area still needed for a fair comparison of old and new properties

I refer to your editorial ('Developers can't have it both ways', December 31).

I commend you for managing to see most of the issues at stake and recognising that public interest and transparency must be the main focus of any proposed legislation to regulate the sale of properties.

A long way to go on transparency

Few organisations beyond the government have as much impact on Hong Kong as the Real Estate Developers Association (REDA). Its members build and invest in property and by doing so influence flat prices and rents, which in turn influence the prices of goods and services.
