Drunk subdued with pepper spray

Police used pepper spray to subdue a drunk after he allegedly assaulted two police officers in Tai Kok Tsui early yesterday. Officers were called at about 3am when the man, 30, blocked a car in Fuk Tsun Street, banged on the vehicle and argued with its driver. The man pushed the two officers when they approached and they used pepper spray to subdue him, a police spokesman said.

Woman in custody after airport heroin haul

A Taiwanese woman was remanded in custody yesterday after appearing in Tsuen Wan Court to face one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. Fang Huei-ping, 28, was arrested at the airport on Tuesday after customs officers found 3.128kg of suspected heroin in her luggage. The case was adjourned to May 24.

Trial of entrapped stun-gun purchaser thrown out

The trial of a man charged with possessing stun guns and canisters of pepper spray was abandoned yesterday after a judge found he had been the victim of police entrapment.

Judge Chua Fi-lan stayed proceedings against Wong Ting-pun, 28, after it was revealed he had been enticed into buying the weapons by a police informer.
