Taste of Africa still going strong in SoHo after six years

Many of its neighbours in SoHo may have had a short lifespan, but African-themed restaurant and lounge Makumba is celebrating its sixth anniversary tomorrow. Owner Amina Lamarie Delafoulhouse said the secret was perseverance.

'I hoped to make a difference so I chose to focus on the African theme regardless of what all the naysayers thought,' she said.
