Unwarranted attack on university researchers

Sin-ming Shaw in his bad-tempered article, 'Second-rate universities ripe for shake-up,' (South China Morning Post, February 15), attacks the City University of Hong Kong. He singles out one particular centre: 'City University offers a Law School and a School of Creative Media. It has a Cross-Cultural Centre to promote Eastern and Western fusion. These are admirable goals.

Mixed day for HK twosome

IT was a tale of two women named Shaw for Hong Kong's team in the Bowls Classic at Cox's Road yesterday - and for Noel Kennedy, it was definitely not a Shaw win.

Kennedy, who partners Mark McMahon (above) in the pairs, lost 25-20 to leading Irish player Norma Shaw in the second round of the singles.
