Classmates of fire victim to write cards to grieving parents

Friends and classmates of the 19-year-old student who was killed in a fire on Monday have been invited to write cards to send condolences to her family. Vivian Chan Lok-man was a first year sociology student at Shue Yan University. She died in a blaze that engulfed her flat.

Student dies after being trapped in flat fire

An off-duty policeman tried in vain to save a 19-year-old university student as she screamed for help when her flat was engulfed by flames yesterday.

Firemen later found her unconscious in a bedroom of the 500 sq ft apartment on the 17th floor of Koway Garden, Chai Wan, and she was certified dead in hospital.
