Abbas, Skhawat lead HK into last four

A 158-run partnership between Zain Abbas and Skhawat Ali has pushed Hong Kong to a 93-run win over Singapore and into the semi-finals at the ACC Trophy in Kuala Lumpur. Abbas, who was man of the match, and Skhawat came together with Hong Kong on 25 for four. The pair kept their composure as they set the foundation for a winning total of 255 for nine. Abbas made 80 while Skhawat made 83.

Dar's efforts fail to save the day

Academy cruise to win

It was perhaps fitting that the run which gave the Bangladesh Academy a three-wicket victory over Hong Kong yesterday should have come off a wide.

The home team sent down 17 wides as they defended a paltry score of 146. Those gift runs made it easier for the visitors to complete a 2-0 sweep of the three-match series - the second one being washed out on Friday.

HK confident of Cup success

The Hong Kong under-19 cricket team headed into this week's Tuanku Ja-afar Cup with full confidence.

Four teams - Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand - began competing yesterday, with the final to be held at the Kowloon Cricket Club on Sunday. They will play a round-robin match, which will determine the two finalists.

U-19 stars in action

Hong Kong's top junior cricketers will compete in the under-19 South East Asia Championship 2004 (Tuanku Ja'afar Cup) starting on Wednesday at the Kowloon Cricket Club and Hong Kong Cricket Club.

The tournament will feature teams from Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia - the defending champions.
