Snorkeller struck by speedboat dies

A young man was hit and killed by a speedboat while snorkelling off Sai Kung yesterday.

Chan Lok-sun, 31, was snorkelling with a friend in Rocky Harbour, south of Sai Kung East Country Park, at around 12.45pm, police said.

Second death on firm's Egypt tours

A Hong Kong travel firm has insisted it takes all measures necessary to ensure the safety of holidaymakers joining its tours to Egypt, after the second death in less than a month of a tour party member while snorkelling in the Red Sea.

A 38-year-old Hong Kong holidaymaker died yesterday, three weeks after a middle-aged woman snorkeller died of a heart attack.

Diver's death 'accidental'

An experienced diver mysteriously drowned while snorkelling with friends, an inquest heard yesterday.

To Fang-sam, 35, went snorkelling with two friends off Kat O, Kat O Chau, on June 4.

The men snorkelled for 45 minutes and took a 20-minute break on a sampan before re-entering the water. But 15 minutes later To could not be seen, the court heard.
