MGM China declares special dividend

Macau casino operator MGM China declared a special dividend of HK$1.02 per share as it posted unaudited earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of HK$5.31 billion last year, up 7.7 per cent from 2011.

Special dividend lifts Cofco shares

Shares in Cofco International, the largest grain trader in China, surged to their highest level in at least 17 years after it proposed a special dividend related to the spin-off of its unit China Agri Holdings.

The stock gained 9.51 per cent or 79 HK cents to close at HK$9.10 yesterday. It has risen 15.8 per cent this year.

Baker Group International Holdings notified the Hong Kong stock exchange of an amendment to its results announcement for the year to May. Citing a 'typographical error', the company reported its '31 May 2002 figure for 'Tax payable' - overseas taxation' should read HK$5,536,000, not '*' '.

Tracker Fund of Hong Kong, the index fund tracking the 33 constituent stocks of Hang Seng Index, will pay a dividend of 19 cents per unit. Ex-dividend date is today and the record date is Thursday. The distribution date will be on May 23.

Special dividend gives extra lift to utility's share price

Shandong International Power Development's decision to pay a special dividend helped its share price rise 9 per cent yesterday, according to analysts.

It finished at HK$1.33, up 11 HK cents.

Yesterday the H share said it would pay out a special interim dividend of 22.8 fen a share.

Dairy Farm International has announced that a resolution approving the payment of a special dividend was approved at a special meeting yesterday. CHINA Strategic Holdings has declared a 50-cent dividend per share as a result of the favourable financial position of the company.

The company said the sale of a partial interest in a brewery for $400 million in December contributed to the profit.

The dividend included a special dividend of seven cents in addition to the interim dividend of 43 cents.

TVE (Holdings) completed the disposal of its site in Broadcast Drive, Kowloon Tong, yesterday.

The company said it planned to pay a special dividend of $1.30 per share to shareholders registered on November 3. The dividend is to be paid on November 6.
