Market sources said the firm aimed to raise between HK$200 million and HK$300 million by way of introduction instead of an initial public offering. That means shares would be issued either to Lifestyle shareholders or private investors.

New World Development forecast to raise US$1b from hotels spin-off

New World Development is expected to raise US$800 million to US$1 billion from the spin-off of its hospitality assets.

Bloomberg quoted two people with knowledge of the matter as saying the developer might seek as much as US$1 billion from the spin-off, which is expected to be completed in the second or third quarter.

Firms play down spin-off reports

Chinese Estates Holdings and Kwong Sang Hong International last night issued statements downplaying speculation about plans to spin off their China property interests.

Chinese Estates said relevant discussions with advisers were at a 'preliminary' stage, and that no decision had been made as to whether to proceed with a spin-off.
