SECURITY around the publication of The Downing Street Years has been tight - but not up to the massive interest the book attracted.

Retired police chief John Stalker was charged with keeping Lady Thatcher's memoirs under tight cover and not a hint of its contents was to be released until the Sunday Times serialisation of it tomorrow.
