'Greedy' tag for mother who stole

An unemployed mother who stole to give her children a Christmas present was called greedy by a magistrate yesterday.

Tai Kwai-mei, 37, was a mother of two boys, aged seven and 16, Eastern Court heard.

She stole to give them gifts she could not afford, defence lawyer Hung Chun-leung said.
