Four-year-old boy attacked by stray dogs in playground

A four-year-old boy was attacked by a pack of stray dogs in a playground metres from his home yesterday.

Lo Kar-kun was playing alone after school near his squatter hut home in Cha Kwo Ling Road, Yau Tong, when he was chased by six strays.

Some of the dogs pounced on the boy, biting him on the buttocks and legs as he tried to flee to his home.

Promenade's stray dogs caught

I refer to the letter from Caroline Addis headlined, 'Wild dogs fouling promenade' (South China Morning Post, October 7) and Dr John Wedderburn's letter 'Stray dogs cull will not work' (Post, October 15).

The Agriculture and Fisheries Department (AFD) has undertaken a series of operations along Seaview Promenade, resulting in the capture of 16 'wild' dogs.
