Norwegian offshore supply company Aker Maritime says its Finnish shipyard Aker Finnyards has signed a 250 million markka (about HK$333.25 million) contract with Rederi AB Engship.

Kvaerner wins ferry order

Kvaerner ASA of Norway, Europe's largest shipbuilder, has won an order worth US$200 million to build two car and passenger ferries for Greece's Attica Enterprises.

Unitor orders

UNITOR'S marine contracting division has won a contract to install 900 pre-fabricated passenger cabins aboard two 74,000 grt (gross registered tonnes) vessels.

The ships, being built at the Helsinki New Shipyard of Kvaerner Masa-Yards for Royal Caribbean Cruises, are Grandeur of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas.

The contract is worth about US$4 million.

EVAC Marine systems of Finland has broken into the tough Japanese passenger vessel market by securing the order to supply the complete marine sanitation system to Crystal Cruises' Crystal Symphony.

Kvaerner conversion for TT Line vessel

A NEW ship-set of ro-ro access equipment designed by Kvaerner Ships Equipment of Sweden is being used in the conversion work on Germany's TT Line's train ferry Robin Hood.

The 24,728 gross registered tonne vessel, which was built in the late '80s, will be completely converted within 15 weeks and re-delivered to TT Line by the end of March.
