Contestants hands on as Subaru tries to palm off a new car

Personally, I can't understand why anyone would want to own a car on Hong Kong's congested roads, but 40 folks were eager enough for a new Subaru to compete in this year's Subaru Palm Challenge at Olympian City. The annual contest requires competitors to keep one hand on a car for an extended period while occasionally performing some tricky manoeuvres with the other.

Four killed in horror crash on NZ holiday

Four members of a Hong Kong family died yesterday when their car was involved in a head-on collision with a four-wheel-drive vehicle during a holiday in New Zealand.

A fifth, a woman identified as Clara Ng, was seriously injured in the crash near Clevedon, south of Auckland. She was being treated in Auckland's Middlemore Hospital.

Fuji to form car venture

Japan's Fuji Heavy Industries has signed a letter of intent to establish a car-making joint venture with China's Guizhou Yunque Car Corp.

Fuji Heavy would take a 49 per cent stake in the 600 million yuan (about HK$557.45 million) venture, the China Daily said.
