Shenyang Public Utility targets $603m

Mainland deal for New World

New World, Suez win Lianjiang water deal

New World Development and its European partner, Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, have won a 30-year build-operate-transfer concession to build a 125 million yuan (about HK$115 million) water treatment plant in Lianjiang, Guangdong.

The franchise, signed between Sino-French Water Development and Lianjiang Water Supply, is the fifth to be awarded to the New World-Suez group in China.

Lack of charterer demand keeps VLCC rates depressed

OWNERS saw little joy last week, with the May Day holiday and only 13 VLCCs (very large crude carriers) fixed at rates in line with the previous week.

The latest fixture reported at WS 34 shows a slight improvement over the level to Europe, but this was a result of a restricted cargo size, not increased demand.
