If you want one of the best seats at the opening of next year's London Olympics, you will have to pay HK$21,685 more than the equivalent at the 2008 Beijing Games cost, and be quick - only 22 opening ceremony tickets have been allocated to Hong Kong.

Hongkongers have been allocated less than a fifth of the 340,000 Olympic Games tickets they applied for.

In the first allocation phase, the city has received 64,387 tickets, including 50 tickets each to the opening and closing ceremonies, the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong said last night.

Customs officers are being trained in how to tell genuine Beijing Olympics Fuwa mascots from fakes.

Ben Ho Kai-hoi, a spokesman for the customs department's intellectual property investigation bureau, said staff had found a small number of Fuwa fakes in the past six months.
