Coming from sun-drenched Arizona in the United States, banker David Ratliff loved running and playing golf under the sun. At age 23, he found a big mole on his back and was diagnosed with melanoma. Banning youths from tanning is unwise

I am writing in response to the article 'Tanning salons to ban under-18s' (South China Morning Post, October 11). The ban seeks to prevent American youngsters from getting skin cancer through the excessive use of tanning beds. I doubt that will work.
