Suspect arrested over murder of decorator

Police say a man found dead at his home in Kwai Chung was murdered. The victim was found collapsed in his flat in Tai Wo Hau Estate early on Tuesday after returning from a banquet. The 44-year-old decoration worker was taken to Yan Chai Hospital, where he was certified dead at 6.30am.

Twenty truck drivers angry at a 30 per cent rise in parking fees staged a slow-drive protest through Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan. They drove from the car park at the centre of the dispute in Kwai Wo Street to the Lands Department Office in Tsuen Wan to hand in a petition.

A man died after falling on the tracks and being hit by a train at Tai Wo Hau MTR station. Police said the victim, 37, was unemployed and officers were investigating whether it was a suicide, but the case had not been classified.

A man, 81, died after plunging four floors from his home in Fu On House, Tai Wo Hau Estate, Tsuen Wan. His son told police he had talked about not being able to live much longer because of an illness.

A man, 35, was taken to a mental hospital after allegedly attacking a 73-year-old man with a knife after a row over who should control buttons in a lift in Tai Wo Hau Estate, Kwai Chung.

Surgeons successfully re-attach student's foot severed by ice machine

Surgeons last night re-attached a 17-year-old student's foot, which was severed in an ice-making machine.

Cheung Chung-leung, who was on his first day of a summer holiday job in a Kwai Chung factory, was in serious condition in Princess Margaret Hospital.

Doctors said the operation was successful.

Police probe man's death

POLICE were last night investigating the death of a man, 51, who reportedly collapsed in a room at Fu Wah House in Tai Wo Hau Estate, Tsuen Wan. He died in Yan Chai Hospital at about 11.30pm and is believed to have suffered a head wound.

Seizure of Viagra

A dispensary in Tai Wo Hau Road, Kwai Chung was raided after undercover police bought three Viagra tablets from it for $300 each. Three men, aged between 28 and 60, were arrested and about $30,000 worth of medicines seized.

Broken fall

A 37-year-old man jumped from the 26th floor of Fu Wing House, Tai Wo Hau Estate, Kwai Chung, only to have his fall broken by a clothes rack on the floor below. He was pulled to safety by firemen and neighbours. His 34-year-old brother said he was a drug addict who had been trying to give up.
