Wharf opts for the short-term answer

THE jury will be out for some time to come on whether Wharf was right to freeze sales at its Telford House development as the property market bull run evaporated.

Wharf says that total building costs were $1,600 a square foot for the project and sales prices of $5,400 were achieved through the first half of 1994.

Bum note

THE charge by your correspondent Ng Lan-hing, (South China Morning Post, June 18), that the Urban Council hired Telford Square at Telford Gardens on June 11 for the staging of noisy holiday concert is incorrect. The Urban Council had nothing to do with the hiring or the concert.

Noisy concert

I AM a resident of Telford Gardens and am writing to complain about the noise level of a concert held at Telford Square on June 11.

The square was rented out to the Urban Council for the day by the MTR, which manages the estate.
