INSTANT-DICT defender Roddy Manley has been voted Overseas Player of the Year, by his fellow professionals in the Hong Kong First Division.

Manley, 28, received 45 votes, including 10 first-place nominations (each worth three points) to take the award from Eastern pair Dale Tempest (34 votes) and Tim O'Shea (27).

FA fixture pile-up leads to muddy farce

NEW league champions Eastern and Happy Valley were forced to play to a farcical 2-2 draw at rain-soaked Mongkok Stadium last night - all for the sake of clearing the Hongkong FA's fixture pile-up.

Both clubs had reluctantly agreed to go ahead with the match at the insistence of the HKFA despite the territory experiencing its worst weather of the year.
