Hall's Empire City looks a good thing

With an estimated HK$15 million prize pool, Sunday's Triple Trio at Sha Tin is one of the last chances for punters to strike it big this season and the lightly raced Empire City looks a banker bet in the final leg.

Mac Facts

All Macs come with some ability to burn or play optical media. Apple's low-cost Combo Drive can play DVDs as well as play and burn CDs, and the more expensive Super Drive burns (records) and plays both CDs and DVDs. However, Macheads who have been around for a while know that whatever technology your computer can handle at the moment will be woefully inadequate in a year or so.

the tassels.

I must express my disappointment over Hong Kong people who do extreme things.

At the recent Food Expo 97 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, one of the booth designers proudly advertised that hundreds of pieces of toast had been used to set up the counter.

As a result the designer received praise from many people.

Falling toast lands under spell of physics

A HAND reaches. A plate slips.

A slice of toast takes flight, slowly rotating as gravity steadily impels it toward an expensive Oriental carpet.

How will this tale end? With a relieved sigh? Or with a home tragically scarred by an ugly carpet stain? Better call the Rug Doctor, says Robert Matthews.
