Fashion labels 'ignoring Chinese suppliers' dirty practices'

More than 20 of the world's biggest fashion brands have been blasted by mainland environmentalists for ignoring the pollution practices of their alleged Chinese textile suppliers.

Night of star-studded fun marks the opening of new Tommy Hilfiger store at Mira Mall

The newly-launched Mira Mall has attracted a string of fashion brands to open anchor ship stores and mark its territory in the popular shopping area in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The latest to jump on the bandwagon is American casual wear label Tommy Hilfiger.

The brand threw a party last Tuesday at its 6,000 sq ft, three-floor store in Nathan Road.

PVH Corp signals mainland expansion

Designer apparel maker PVH Corp, formerly known as Phillips-Van Heusen, is looking to step up its expansion on the mainland after the United States-based company swung to a profit in the second quarter.

'It's clearly a market that we could see very accelerated growth,' PVH chairman and chief executive Emanuel Chirico told analysts in a conference call yesterday.
