Selection reprieve for Hung

Hung Chung-yam will have another chance to qualify for next month's Kent Tour of China after missing Sunday's selection trial.

Hung was due to join seven other Hong Kong riders in a 45-kilometre trial at Bride's Pool Road but didn't turn up for the 6 am start.

Rominger provides a shock for Indurain

SWISS Tony Rominger ended Miguel Indurain's time trial supremacy in the Tour de France yesterday with a crushing win in a race against the clock in the penultimate stage.

Rominger's third stage victory of the Tour was not enough to unsettle the Spaniard in the overall standings before today's finish in Paris but it allowed him to jump from fourth to second.
