Contrast colour

When it comes to men's fashion, the term 'contrast colour' is usually associated with a blue shirt with a white collar and white French cuffs. Another example would be Gordon Gekko in all his megalomaniacal glory.

T-shirt Dressing

Many screen idols past and present have looked good in a T-shirt or two in their time. There was Marlon Brando and James Dean in their plain white tees. And Steve McQueen looking rugged in a well-worn one astride a Triumph motorcycle (McQueen's face reappeared on a Dolce & Gabbana T-shirt a few seasons back).

Dandy & Dapper

I was going through old family photos and was reminded of my Dad's old safari suits. I'm thinking this would be perfect for the Hong Kong summer. What do you recommend?

Modern Hawaiian

Hawaiian shirts have had such a bad rap in the past few years. They became associated with sloppily dressed American tourists, and stylish men everywhere banished flower prints from their wardrobes (or at least stashed them at the back).

Guys, why is it easier for my wife to find a non-marking B.O. basher than it is for me? Don't they think guys want to avoid those white marks, too? I thought Joyce Grooming in The Landmark would have a solution but it didn't even have any deodorants.

Arnault Castel, the owner of fashion and lifestyle boutique Kapok, says he isn't afraid to channel his inner geek when picking out an outfit.

Dandy & Dapper

I bought a shirt from Slowear in Hong Kong before it closed last year. I love it - it's my favourite shirt ever. I have tried to find one on the internet and I can't believe they don't make them anymore. I've posted it to you for reference.

On style, she rules

A friend posted pictures of Lady Gaga wearing the most beautiful tops. They had sleeves that puff out at the end. They were elegant, not her usual crazy gear. I really have looked, Dictator, but I can't find the tops or the right words to make the store staff know what I mean.

I have a visitor coming to town for only 24 hours and she'd like to order a custom-made shirt for her boyfriend. It needs to be very high quality. Could you recommend the very best tailor in Hong Kong?

Seldom off the cuff

Philip Greenwood's style is that of the classic banker type. It's corporate, conservative and rooted in suiting. His wardrobe is dictated by his career. The co-founder of cufflink label One Bond St is also an executive at a shipping company, and wears suits on a daily basis.
