Public warned over invalid phone cards

Some, with hundreds of dollars left in value, stopped working after one call

The public has been warned against buying pre-paid calling cards issued by smaller and less established companies after the Consumer Council received nearly 400 complaints since the start of last year about invalid cards.

Cutting Christmas cards could help save 125 trees

It will be a Christmas without cards but plenty of greetings in a green way.

Friends of the Earth is hoping to reduce by 500,000 the number of Christmas cards sent this year, equivalent to 125 trees - about the number of cards being mailed out by companies in Hong Kong every year.

New collection of soccer stickers launched with 'free' giveaway

A NEW soccer sticker collection has been launched by Merlin, publishers of the world's best-selling sticker series.

Premier League 98 comprises 504 top-quality machine varnished stickers in a 128-page album which will be a must for collectors everywhere.

The collection will feature 360 paper, 60 silver prismatic, 20 engraved foil and 64 large-format stickers.

Fans get chance to collect souvenirs

FANS with an eye for collectable items have a chance to add to their hauls as the English Soccer Show opens at Queensway Plaza in Admiralty on May 24 and 25.

Hong Kong merchandising company Panimex International, which launched English Premier League player stickers and albums among other items last year, have organised the roadshow which will run from 10am-6pm each day.
