You've got to hand it to cuteness: it does sell. A string of shopping malls across the city have adopted cute cartoon characters for their summer campaigns, which feature shopping privileges, novelty souvenirs and in-store decorations.

The K11 Art Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui will be transformed into a summer market as the Food Art Festival returns on July 20.

The mall will be brightened up by American artist Erick Scarecrow's life-sized models.
