Woman injured by bus

A 78-year-old woman was injured when a bus reversed into her as she was crossing Kin Wah Street, North Point, at about 8.30am yesterday. She was taken conscious to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment to her hand and face. Police said the bus driver passed a breathalyser test and no one was arrested.

10-year-old Airport Express to get a facelift

The MTR Corporation will spend HK$27 million to give the 10-year-old Airport Express a facelift, with new seat covers and carpets.

And four stations along the Tung Chung line will be renovated, with Tsing Yi seeing one of the largest overhauls, MTR chief architect Wilfred Yeung Sze-wai said yesterday.

Runaway taxi wheel hits woman pedestrian

A wheel broke off a moving taxi and rolled for about 300 metres before hitting and injuring a woman in Tsing Yi yesterday. The front wheel came off when the taxi was travelling on Chung Mei Road at 8.45am. The 66-year-old woman hit by the wheel was treated for minor injuries to her back, hand and head at Princess Margaret Hospital.

A seriously-injured 81-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of murdering his 76-year-old wife in a fight in which the pair allegedly attacked each other with a hammer and chopper.

Accused had jumped bail, court told

The knife-wielding man shot in the buttocks by police outside a public housing estate in Tsing Yi earlier this month had jumped bail in another assault case, Tsuen Wan Court heard yesterday. Wheelchair-bound Wong Chak-hoi, 27, entered no plea when he appeared in court yesterday. Both cases were postponed to November 21.
