Four quizzed over fake notes

Four men and a woman, aged from 33 to 62, have been questioned by police after counterfeit $100 notes were found at Jockey Club off-course betting centres in North Point, Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung and Tuen Mun. They were later released.

Police officer fires shot as thieves make off with radar

A policeman fired a shot early yesterday as he tried to stop thieves driving away with stolen speed detector equipment. The radar - worth between $600,000 and $700,000 - was grabbed from a roadside post where a sergeant was using it and destroyed as the thieves escaped.

Flyover jump

A taxi driver, 40, plunged five metres after jumping from a flyover near Tsuen Wan ferry pier. He was taken to Yan Chai Hospital.

Truck crash traps driver

A DRIVER was trapped for 40 minutes yesterday after his container truck jack-knifed and turned over in Tsuen Wan, blocking traffic both ways for nearly three hours.

The empty truck skidded as it came off Tsuen Wan Road on to Texaco Road at 1 pm. It demolished a lamp post and blocked all but one of the northbound lanes and all lanes southbound.
