Woman dies after ambulance delayed

The arrival at hospital of an elderly woman who collapsed at home was delayed yesterday because of the latest breakdown in a series of mechanical faults plaguing the city's ambulance fleet. The 86-year-old woman was confirmed dead shortly after her arrival at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Awning rescue

Rescuers pulled a man, 89, from the awning outside his 20th-floor flat in Tsui Chuk Garden, Tsz Wan Shan, after he threatened suicide.

Hit by mirror

A 12-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother were hit by the wing mirror of a car near Tsui Chuk Street outside Block Four of Tsui Chuk Garden, Wong Tai Sin, while walking over a zebra crossing with their grandmother. They were treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and discharged.

Husband's body kept in flat for three years

A housewife kept her husband's body in their Wong Tai Sin flat for nearly three years.

Police called to the flat in Tsui Chuk Garden, Chui Chuk Street, yesterday afternoon found the 'dried-up body' of Chow Man, 75, a martial arts teacher, covered with cloth in the sitting room.

Caught out

A BURGLAR suspected of being an illegal immigrant was caught after he fell from a building in Tsui Chuk Garden, Wong Tai Sin and broke his right leg. He had broken into a seventh-floor flat, but was surprised by the tenant, 26, who shouted for help.

Out of step . . . three illegal immigrants were arrested during a stop-and-search operation by police at the foot of Lion Rock, near Wong Tai Sin, at 10.30 am yesterday. Residents of Tsui Chuk Garden spotted the scantily-dressed men and reported them.

Girl dies in 15-floor fall

A TWELVE-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl fell 15 floors to her death from her Wong Tai Sin home yesterday.

A caretaker at Tsui Chuk Garden in Chuk Yuen discovered Yeung Suet-ching lying unconscious on the ground floor of block seven just after 7 am.

Police found a screwdriver on a table of the family flat, where a window grille appeared to have been prised open.
