Police seized HK$1.7 million worth of furs and computer hard disks in an anti-smuggling operation in Sai Kung before dawn yesterday. About 10 people were spotted loading boxes of goods from a car onto two speedboats at Sai Kung Public Pier off Wai Man Road at about 4am. They escaped in the boats.

Driver killed in truck crash
A truck driver was killed when his vehicle ran into the back of a stationary truck in Tsing Yi. Police suspect he may have fallen asleep at the wheel. It took firemen more than an hour to free the 28-year-old from the cab.
