Unheralded Thai Pavit Tangkamolpraset withstood a furious late finish from India’s Anirban Lahiri to win the US$1.1 million Venetian Macao Open in a play-off on Sunday.
Venetian Macao Open 2016 will be held at the Macau Golf & Country Club from October 13-16. The tournament, which is part of the Asian Tour, was first played in 2004 and won by American Jason Knutzon. Australian Scott Hend is the defending champion, having won the 2015 event by three strokes over India's Chiragh Kumar and Anirban Lahiri, the 2014 champion. It was Hend's second Macau title after his victory in 2013. This year's tournament will be the 13th edition and offers US$1.1 million in prize money.
