Champagne toasts bid bubbly farewell to fair, but guests left with nowhere to rest sore heads

The Club Clicquot XVIII party at Kee Club sated guests' thirst for art and a glass of bubbly. The party, sponsored by champagne producer Veuve Clicquot, was held on Saturday to celebrate the annual ART HK fair, which closed the following day. Veuve Clicquot was one of the fair's sponsors.

ART HK fair preview a magnificent opportunity for some people watching

People-watching was just as much fun as ogling art at the preview of the annual ART HK fair at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

It was wall-to-wall dealers, art-loving celebrities and socialites at Wednesday night's VIP event.

Many arrived in colourful, art-inspired outfits, some looking like works of art themselves.

What: Veuve Clicquot celebrated the third ARTHK fair with a cocktail reception, while displaying the comet lamp by renowned designer Tom Dixon. Mirrors on the walls allowed guests to enjoy the full effect of the masterpiece.

The whole place was popping

The bubbly was flowing for the Veuve Clicquot-sponsored Club Clicquot Treize - City of Angels party at the Kee Club on December 5. Featuring avant-garde music with DJ Cache in an LA-themed evening that mixed Hollywood glam with warehouse club chic, the late-night bash brought west coast cool to the East.

Even bubbly has a budget

By the way, it's been a good week for food and booze as the restaurant and bar convention ran at the Convention and Exhibition Centre from Tuesday to yesterday. As for Wednesday specifically, it wasn't just a great night for champagne because of the Veuve Clicquot event. In addition, back in Central a new vintage to Asia, Nicolas Feuillatte, hosted a tasting at Solas.

Top designer Rashid adds a little verve to Veuve Clicquot sparkle

It's the second year in a row that champagne-maker Veuve Clicquot has invited well-known product designer Karim Rashid to make something unique. Last year, he did a pink S-shaped loveseat, and this time he's created the Globalight, a curvy carrier that keeps a bottle of bubbly (pink, of course) cold while illuminating it in a soft halo of light.

Wyclef Jean set to unplug at MO Bar

Former Fugees member Wyclef Jean will be the next international artist to do a music showcase at the MO Bar. The R&B and hip hop producer is releasing a new CD, The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant, shortly and the Haitian-American artist will be here to promote it with an 'unplugged' show at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental bar on April 21.

The Vertical Limit wine cellar could be yours for a mere HK$100,000 - if you're lucky. Created by Porsche Design Studio in conjunction with Veuve Clicquot, the brushed-steel armoire comes with 12 vintage magnums and is the only one (of 15 worldwide) available in Asia. Measuring 2.1 metres by 60cm, it keeps bottles chilled at 12 degrees Celsius.
