Investors buy Cheung Kong flats

Cheung Kong (Holdings) said it sold 57 flats of Victoria Towers in Tsim Sha Tsui this month for HK$382 million. The units were priced at HK$4,538 to HK$6,759 per square foot with the average at HK$5,625 and almost 60 per cent of buyers were investors.

Cheung Kong sells 31 flats

Cheung Kong (Holdings) says it has sold 31 flats of Victoria Towers in Tsim Sha Tsui this month for more than HK$210 million. The units measuring 536 sq ft to 838 sq ft were priced at HK$4,718 to HK$6,559 per square foot, it said.

Cheung Kong nets $518m

Cheung Kong (Holdings) says it sold 91 flats at Victoria Towers in Tsim Sha Tsui last month and generated HK$518 million. The company said more than 70 per cent of buyers were end-users and the remainder investors. It will release another seven units for sale tomorrow, with average prices starting at HK$4,300 per square foot.

Victoria Towers in release

Cheung Kong (Holdings) is releasing seven units of its Victoria Towers residential project in Tsim Sha Tsui for public sale at HK$4,558 a square foot on December 28. The remaining units will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Clash of property titans

Cheung Kong (Holdings) and Wharf (Holdings) were in a close encounter last night, launching rival residential projects for internal sale at the same time. Agents said competition for buyers was keen between Cheung Kong's Victoria Towers, in Tsim Sha Tsui, and Wharf's, Sorrento project, in nearby Kowloon Station.

Issue of pre-sale consents

The Lands Department issued pre-sale consents for the sale of 2,981 residential units in three projects last month. They included Cheung Kong (Holdings)' Victoria Towers in Tsim Sha Tsui, Wharf (Holdings') Sorrento in Kowloon Station and New World Development's Sereno Verde in Yuen Long.

Rivals going head to head

Wharf (Holdings) has received Government consent for the pre-sale of the 1,272-unit phase one development of its Sorrento project at Kowloon Station. Real estate agents said the project probably would clash with The Victoria Towers, developed by rival Cheung Kong (Holdings) in nearby Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
