New computer virus strikes mainland

I-WORM.klez, a vicious new computer virus identified in China last Friday, is spreading across the mainland.

No tally of the number of casualties is available so far.

Are all Java viruses on the Web a hoax?

A few days ago I received an e-mail from a friend warning of a new Java virus on the Web called Mr Bean. According to this e-mail, the Mr Bean virus is extremely dangerous, can corrupt my system and even damage my hard disk physically.

Telecom group fooled by hoax virus warning

A British telecommunications trade group has drawn up an e-mail code of practice after it relayed a hoax message detailing an allegedly deadly 'vapourware' virus that could wipe all the data on a computer's hard disk.

Vapourware is a term given to software under development that is hyped by the publisher, even though it is not available in the market.

INTERNET users are being infected with a new virus - and they don't even know it.

We were alerted to this by Raymond Lowe of Scraps Computer Consulting, who was infected himself, but is now cured.

To understand it, you have to realise that it's a virus which claims to be warning about a virus.

HERE is some travel advice for those of you who spend your time journeying on the Information Highway.

Word has reached Keeping Posted that a curious computer virus is going around in modem-happy circles in both Hong Kong and China which could be dangerous to your health - or rather, the health of your hard disks.
