Shares in defunct electronics and property trading company Wah Nam Group are in the third stage of the delisting procedure. It has six months to come up with a viable resumption proposal. The shares have been suspended from trading since July last year, when a court ordered it wound up for grossly understating its liabilities.

Consumer-electronics maker Wah Nam Group has slapped a damages lawsuit on its former chief executive and finance director for alleged breach of duty.

Samson David Chen is being sued for breach of duty as Wah Nam's chief executive and director in relation to the performance of four subscription agreements, according to a High Court writ.

The Wah Nam Group has posted a net loss for the year to December 31, 1997, of $34.2 million, representing a decrease of 21.6 per cent over losses recorded the previous year. The group's turnover decreased by 21.11 per cent to $136.5 million.

Consumer electrical appliance-maker Wah Nam Group says it will continue with its rights issue, despite the recent stock market decline. The company hopes to raise about $200 million. Wah Nam scrip was suspended from trading last Thursday after it said it was considering postponing its rights issue.
