As technology becomes more advanced and more computer games are invented, teenagers are spending more time in the virtual world.

They lock themselves in their rooms and stare at their computers for hours.

The government has wasted $30 million on clearing tyres dumped illegally at refuse collection points and on the streets in the past five years, the commission charged. It found that although there were more than 200 garages in the SAR, only 29 were registered for delivering waste tyres to landfills.

Hitting sour note

I AM in dismay at Peter Sherwood's ''A night of bad sax'', surely a completely irresponsible and time wasting article (Sunday Morning Post Magazine, November 7).

It is a one-sided, negative opinion which aims only to put down a world class music performance.

Cage wasting taxpayers' money

I AGREE with Dr Wedderburn (South China Morning Post, August 5), regarding the jaguars at the Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Of the $5.2 million allocated for the new cage, $1 million will be spent on artificial rocks. This is wasting taxpayers' money.All of the 600 square metres could be covered with Hong Kong granite for less than 10 per cent of $1 million.
