The 10 K - unlike the half and full marathons - may not be regarded as distance running, but the event requires a reasonable amount of preparation and training.

It is part of Sunday's Standard Chartered Marathon, where a record 13,000 runners are expected.

Territory clean up in Manila

The Watson's Athletic Club (WAC) pair of women's triple jumper Anthea Li Chun-nei and men's thrower Sammy Fong Charm-hung led a Hong Kong medals spree at the three-day Philippines Open Championships, which ended in Manila yesterday.

Li took gold with a leap of 11.32 metres and also finished third in the long jump with an effort of 5.77 metres.
