Australian rider Dwayne Dunn was both hero and villain for trainer Caspar Fownes yesterday, edging him out of a griffin win but making amends with Whiplash as Fownes landed a back-to-back double mid-meeting.

Whiplash kills fisherman

ONE fisherman died and another was severely injured by a rope's whiplash on their vessel 135 kilometres east of Hong Kong.

A Government Flying Service helicopter airlifted the men to United Christian Hospital where one was declared dead on arrival. His colleague, 36, was in a stable condition.

Q: WHAT is whiplash? Is it a real medical condition or is it a term used by greedy lawyers to sue for money? Can the damages be documented or are they more in the mind of the victims? I was involved in a collision last month and now the other driver is suddenly claiming he is suffering from whiplash.
