Whirlpool Corp is a US whiteware-maker, which became the world’s biggest home appliance manufacturer after its 2006 acquisition of Maytag. In August 2013, Whirlpool said it would buy a majority stake in China’s Hefei Rongshida Sanyo Electric for US$552 million to build its Asian business.

Profit falls 88pc as Gome's sales slide
