Sydney-bound 'tourists' arrested over drug Ice

Police have swooped on a suspected drug trafficking gang who tried to use the cover of an organised tour group to smuggle HK$5 million of the party drug Ice from Hong Kong to Sydney.

Five people were arrested at Chek Lap Kok airport yesterday and the methamphetamine was seized from secret compartments inside luggage.

Easter tours cancelled

Some local travel agencies have cancelled tours to all parts of Japan for the Easter holiday.

The cancellations from April 16 to the end of the month will affect 3,300 holidaymakers and cost the tourism industry more than HK$3 million.

Hong Kong tour group safe after fleeing building

A tour group of 20 Hong Kong people was in Christchurch when the earthquake struck, but all were unhurt.

Bus driver was speeding, say injured tourists

A Hong Kong tourist who suffered a broken pelvis when a tour bus crashed in Shandong at the weekend says the driver was going too fast and weaving across the road before the incident.

'We asked [the driver] to slow down but he did not seem to bother,' she said. 'He kept driving very fast, and I felt the coach start to zigzag. Shortly afterwards, it crashed.'

Tour group stranded at Korean resort

A Hong Kong tour group was stranded for three days in South Korea because of bad weather.

The 36-member tour left for Cheju, a popular resort in the south of the country, on February 4.

They were scheduled to fly home from Cheju via Seoul on Tuesday.
